A Zoya a Day - Gabi

Hey there

Long time no see, I've been struggling with some depression since November, this time of year until February is tough for me, I have several death anniversaries to get through and its also really dark a lot of the time.

Today on the blog I have the gorgeous Gabi to share with you, shes a deep dark purple.

A Zoya a Day
Name - Gabi
Year - 2019
Number - ZP1020
Coats - 1
Finish - Creme
Collection - Twinkling
Colour - Purple
Topcoat -None over swatch, Barry M over stamping.

Gabi was opaque in one sweet coat, perfect formula, no running or pooling.

I've done a comparison between Gabi and Monica at the bottom but they arnt the best pics as its really sunny here (for a change!) but I can confirm that they are different, Monica has a drop or three more blue than Gabi making her slightly deeper in colour.

I used Pretty in Plaid stamping plate from Uberchic and Models Own Chrome Mauve.

I have a pic of Ellie for you as well, look at that smile :) isnt she the cutest tabby :) kitty cuddles are the best.

Fluid Nail Art

Today on the blog I have some fluid nail art to share with you.

Now if you know me you know I am completely kak handed! If there's a way to mess something up I'm your girl, Saturdays example was I walked into a post in the supermarket, got the bruise to prove it to! Bonus pic at the end!

Anyway, fluid nail art, Alex over at Nail Artisan Cosmetics actually designed a fluid nail art plate, I also used the following

Left to Right
Sally Hansen Racey Rouge
Virago Varnish No More S'mores
Fancy Gloss Prototype 3
Sally Hansen Mint Sprint and Sonic Bloom
Nail Artisan Cosmetics Fluid Art plate.
Clear Jelly Stamper Big Bling Stamper (not shown)
Barry M Cosmetics Plumpy Topcoat (not shown)

I started with a base of the Fancy Gloss, one sweet coat of this very reactive thermal, then I stamped using the other colours going from darkest to lightest except for the mint which I stamped last on my fingers but first on my thumbs as I used a bigger image.

I've worn these since Saturday and am only now about to take them off on Wednesday 4th December.

Zoya Twinkling collection picks

I know its been quite a while, I was waiting on my Zoya order coming in with my picks from the Twinkling collection.

So thje ones I picked are

Left to Right

I will be doing comparisons on these but I#m going to do them when I wear them.

A Zoya a Day
Name - Diana
Year - 2000
Number - ZP091
Coats - 2
Finish - Creme
Collection - Classic
Colour - Red

Diana is described as a deep, bold, rich classic red creme with a subtle touch of soft burgundy.  This is a medium bright red, it'll be a good one for Christmas I think, this had a gorgeous formula, no running or pooling and opaque in two easy coats. This is still available on the Zoya website.

Ellie is settling in well, she's now met Obi a couple of times without hissing or wappy paws which is good. Her nose is also healing nicely.

Zoya Michaela and Ellie

Happy Sunday!

What a weekend so far!

We went yesterday to see another cat, a 2 year old tabby and white girl who had been abandoned by her previous owners, her name is Ellie :)

She was good as gold coming back in the car, not a peep from her but she was looking around.

Within 30 minutes of being here she was rolling around getting fuss from my hubs :)

We havent introduced her to Obi yet, I like to do intros slowly, with sniff meetings first.

Now on to the polish I've been wearing since Thursday!

I started out with one coat of Michaela who is described as a dusty purple taupe cream, this has a grey undertone and is very chameleon like in different lights. Great formula no running or pooling.

I then stamped using Revolution Uniform and stamping plate CJS-LC19 which is a mandala one from Clear Jelly Stamper. I topped everything with Barry M Plumpy topcoat then Barry M Matte topcoat.

Zoya Rashida and Margaret

Its been a while since I posted, I have been struggling with Rosies loss and while I have painted my nails I havent felt like posting the manis on social media. The new cat we adopted a month before she passed has been amazing, he loves human company and has been hanging out with me a lot. I went to bed early last night to read and the picture below is Obi chilling out on my lap.

Today on the blog I have two winter reds to share with you, meet Rashida and Margaret

A Zoya a Day
Name - Rashida
Year - 2019
Number - ZP1006
Coats - 2
Finish - Metallic
Collection - Sensual
Colour - Red
Topcoat -None

A Zoya a Day
Name - Margaret
Year - 2019
Number - ZP1005
Coats - 2
Finish - Creme
Collection - Sensual
Colour - Red
Topcoat - None

Rashida is a dark vampy metallic that has a superb formula, no running or pooling and you could get away with one coat if you wanted a lighter than in the bottle colour, if you own Zoya Ember then Rashida is her darker vampier sister, I would love a car in this colour!

Margaret is a mid toned red creme, another amazing formula and with careful application a one coater also, I had one tiny bald spot and a drag mark so my picture shows two coats but again no running or pooling and clean up was good as well.

Rosie 2009 - 7 October 2019

This is the post I dreaded writing.

My Rosie cat crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Monday 7th October 2019.

In August she got her annual yearly inoculations while there the vet recommended she have her teeth cleaned as they had some tartar build up, so we booked her in for that, however, when they xrayed her teeth prior to cleaning they discovered that her jaw was *moth-eaten*, while cleaning her teeth they also had a bit of pus come out of her lower left incisor, they didnt remove the tooth at that time as they thought her jaw was too fragile. She got antibiotics and pain meds and we went back in two weeks at which point they removed the tooth and sent it off for biopsy, Rosie was still eating and drinking ok and we were hoping it was just a bone infection.

Sadly on Friday 4th October she stopped eating and drinking and would just sit for hours in the one spot, we took her to the vet Saturday morning where she was weighted at 2.7kgs, she was given pain meds, a different antibiotic (she had a temperature) and an anti-sickness med plus fluids.  Saturday she seemed to perk up a tiny bit but we couldnt get her to eat or drink :(, Sunday she again didnt eat or drink and sat or lay in the one spot for hours, I kept checking on her and stroking her gently and telling her I loved her. We had an appointment for Monday morning and we brought her in, she was weighted again, she was down to 2.4kgs :(, her temperature was still very high and we knew she couldnt go on, she was obviously in pain, plus for a small cat to loose 300 grams in 48 hours was bad, so we made the heart breaking decision to have her cross the Rainbow Bridge.

She was taken away for a few minutes to have the line put in, then she came back and my husband and I cuddled her and told her we loved her very much, she had the injection and went to sleep for the last time, it was very fast :( we spent time with her still telling her we loved her.

We had adopted her and Tom (bottom pic, tabby) at the same time in August 2009, Rosie had been found in the grounds of a school in Tamworth and she was originally called Miss Rawlett after the school, we changed her name to Rosie as it suited her more. She had the best personality and knew how to flop on command, plus give heads bonks if we said dush.

Run free over the Rainbow Bridge Rosie :( love you.

Marble thermal nails

Happy Thursday

I bought a new stamping plate from Nail Artisan Cosmetics called Marble-ous :)

I started with 2 coats of Lavender from Wikkid Polish a stunning deep purple (cold) to light purple (warm) thermal that has blue flakies and holo sparkle.

I then used Marble-ous stamping plate from Nail Artisan Cosmetics, I used Models Own Chrome Gold first then Zoya Savita the darker purple, then Zoya Delia, all topped off with Bary M Plumpy Topcoat.

Fancy Gloss Prototype 3 with Plaid/Tartan stamping

Happy rainy Tuesday!

Today on the blog I have a lush thermal from Fancy Gloss with added tartan/plaid stamping to share with you.

I started with two coats of Prototype 3 a lush coral (cold) to apple green (warm) thermal, this was opaque in the cold state on the first coat but in the warm I still had a tiny bit of visible nail line so I added a second coat, great formula no running or pooling.

I then grabbed Pretty in Plaid stamping plate from Uberchic and using my Big Bling stamper from Clear Jelly Stamper added some plaid, I used Sally Hansen Sonic Bloom which as I hoped was a perfect match when my hands where cold but showed up beautifully when they were warm. I do love hidden stamping :) the Fancy Gloss dries matte, I added my usual Barry M Plumpy topcoat over the stamping then Barry M Matte topcoat over that.

Zoya Vesper

Hey there, happy Thursday!

Today on the blog I have a gorgeous purple to share with you, meet Vesper!

A Zoya a Day
Name - Vesper
Year - 2019
Number - ZP1010
Coats - 1
Finish - Creme
Collection - Sensual
Colour - Purple/Grey/Blue
Topcoat - Matte topcoat

Wow, look at this gorgeous colour, its purple, grey and blue all in one, another very cool colour from Zoya, seriously does anyone know how they do this? Please excuse the tip wear in the matte shot I took it after a lot of house work and typing.

This is Midnight Obsidian aka Obi, he's a rescue we adopted on Sunday the 8th September 2019. Hes a bit skitty but getting better, we're letting him decide on how far he wants to explore at the minute, he's accidentally met Rosie under our bed but there was no hissing or puffy tails, just a sniff and then they went to opposite ends of the bed.

Zoya Joss and Plaid/Tartan Nail Art

Hey there

Today on the blog meet Joss and I have some tartan/plaid nail art to share with you :)

A Zoya a Day
Name - Joss
Year - 2019
Number - ZP1001
Coats - 2
Finish - Creme
Collection - Sensual
Colour - Pink/Nude
Topcoat - None

I love plaid aka tartan nails, I started with my usual two coats of Zoya Anchor basecoat, then I did 2 coats of Joss, excuse the messy swatch but I knew I was stamping so I didnt clean up prior to stamping, great formula, no running or pooling and almost opaque in one coat on my short nails. I then grabbed the three purples from the new Sensual collection which are (L to R in their pic) Ripley, Micheala and Vesper.  I used Uberchic Pretty in Plaid plate and my Big Bling stamper from Clear Jelly Stamper, as you can see they stamped really well, I then grabbed Fab Ur Nails Fun 21 plate and did some marble stamping on my thumbs, I then topped everything with Barry M Plumpy topcoat then Barry M Matte topcoat.

Also how come Joss is more mannequin hands matte than shiny?

I think they turned out great :) now I wish I could find a shirt with this colour combo!
