Zoya Rekha

Happy Friday!

Almost the weekend and its the Austrian Grand Prix this weekend.

Today on the blog I have a stunning deep red for you.

A Zoya a Day
Name - Rekha

Year - 2012
Number - ZP626
Coats - 2
Finish - Creme
Collection - Designer
Colour - Red
Topcoat - None

Normally I am not a fan of red, not for the colour but because when youre almost blind and a messy painter sometimes, clean up of red can look like you stuck your fingers in a meat grinder! So I went very slowly and carefully with this one and I had the teeniest bit of cleanup and it was ok.  This is so shiny! even my hubs remarked on it.

The formula on this was perfection, no running or pooling and pretty much a one coater if youre more consistent with your coats than I am, I had done a thinner coat on my ring finger so had to go back in for a second coat.

Zoya Tessa

Today on the blog I have the beautiful Tessa to share with you.

A Zoya a Day
Name - Tessa

Year - 2019
Number - ZP985
Coats - 2
Finish - Shimmer
Collection - Barefoot
Colour - Peach
Topcoat - Barry M Plumpy

A Zoya a Day
Name - Richelle

Year - 2008
Number - ZP462
Coats - 1
Finish - Metallic
Collection - Flourish
Colour - Gold
Topcoat - Barry M Plumpy

Tessa is a stunning peachy dream with copper shimmer, I did switch out the brush for the zwide one, thats what the white dot on the cap means, the formula was good, no running or pooling and opaque in two coats.

I then decided to stamp with Richelle, I used plate BM-XL206 from Hello Maniology.

The thumb pic I had to darken down as I couldnt see the stamping on the original picture.  It was visible in person though.

I have a post coming up wearing Richelle on her own.

Fancy Gloss - Black Heart

Today I have the other Fancy Gloss I picked up.

This is the stunning and super vampy Black Heart, this is giving me so many Drucilla vibes.

This had a great formula, opaque in 2 coats, in time this could be a one coater, I tested it this morning and it stamps :)

In the cold state this is black, normally it dries to a matte finish, I stamped using a Mundo De Unas plate called AK50 which has an origami feel to it. My stamping polish was Revlon Stiletto. I used Barry M Plumpy topcoat then Barry M Matte topcoat to make the stamping easier to see.

When its in the warm state its a lush bright red, you can see it almost has a tri-thermal look as the black fades it goes a dark red then fully hot its the bright red.

This transitions nicely as well, in the fully hot picture I did have to use manipulation because I was feeling very cold yesterday, had a cardigan on and the heating was on.

Collection - Barefoot
Colour - Blue
Topcoat - Barry M Plumpy

I switched out the brush for the zwide one and did two sweet coats, I then decided to stamp using a Mundo De Unas plate called YP272, I used Zoya Hadley to stamp with and it turned out really well. All topped off with my usual Barry M Plumpy topcoat.

Fancy Gloss - Grape Limeade

Today on the blog I have an amazing thermal to share with you.

This is opaque in 2 coats and is just stunning, cold its a dark plummy purple, then warm it goes to a lighter plum, then a dark green and finally when hot its a chartreuse green, if you look at my left hand little finger you can see the different colours in the purple, on the thumb view you can see the darker green. This also had a pink shimmer.  This transitioned really well, didnt have to force the change at all.

On a side note this also stamps as I tested it this morning, trying to work out a mani using it.

Then decided to stamp using Zoya Hadley and FabUrNails plate Fun21 with my big bling stamper from Clear Jelly Stamper, all topcoated with Barry M Plumpy topcoat.

Zoya Haul

Happy Monday

I managed to get my paws on the Zoya Barefoot Collection and below I have comparisons for you.  This is a long post with lots of pictures so, grab a snack and drink.  I have a polish fairy who very kindly lets me order from the USA site.

Below is the barefoot box plus 2 Fancy Gloss I couldnt resist. I have a post coming up about those two.

So the box consisted of the 12 polishes from the collection, 12 z-wide brushes, one remove plus in the flipper bottle, a sample pack of their naked manicure set of handcream and a spray moisturiser both really nice, the handcream smells really good not a very strong smell either which is great as some smells can give me migraine.  Plus 2 lipsticks, which I havent tried yet. they dont smell of anything though.

Now for the comparisons, this is a lot of photos!  All photos were taken in natural light, it was not sunny here in the UK, the new polish is always to the left in the bottle shots and the top stick in the swatch photos

So first up

L to R
Dallas
Alicia
Monet

No dupes, Zoya hasnt done this kind of topper before.

If you see the white dots on the caps that means I switched out the brush to the z-wide one.

L to R
Bee
Daisy
Piaf

No dupes, Bee is brighter than Daisy and Piaf almost has a grey undertone with that shimmer.

L to R
Joey
Dot
Lulu

No dupes this was very close in the bottle but look at the difference on the swatch sticks, Lulu I put in because Joey has quite a peachy undertone.

L to R
Tessa
Flowie
Cole

No dupes, Tessa is much brighter and peachier than Flowie and Cole is pure creamsicle orange.

L to R
Keira
Beth
Jules

No dupes, they look similar in the bottle but theyre not close on the swatch sticks, Keira has a very brown copper undertone, Jules is one of my all time favs, its both silver and gold, very unusual.

L to R
Dacey
Jolene
Starla

Close but not exact dupes, Dacey is a shade darker than Jolene with a hint more blue undertone.

L to R
Macey
Journey
Ember

Close but not exact, Macey is a shade lighter than Ember and Journey has a different finish.

L to R
Liza
Padma
Tamsen
Pepper

Liza is one of those weird colours Zoya do, Liza is described as a rich, cardinal red cream, while Padma is described as a deep, vermilion red cream, however, to me these two are pink, Tamsen is a tomato red and Pepper is a brick red.

L to R
Robbie
Everly
Bobbie

No dupes, Robbie has golden shimmer, Everly is a holo and Bobbie has silver shimmer.

L to R
Rie
Audrina
Evette
Kieko

No dupes, Rie is a shade darker than Audrina, Evette and Kieko have a blue undertone.

L to R
Eleni
Lillian
Rayne
Blu

No dupes, Eleni is brighter than Lillian, Rayne has shimmer and Blu is much lighter.

L to R
Walker
Saint
Barry M Damson

No dupes within Zoya, however, I brought a ringer in because Damson is a dupe for the famous Sally Hanson Pacific Blue, Walker has a slighter greener undertone but its close as a dupe.

Thats them all, did I miss a comparison?? Let me know in the comments and if I have the Zoya I'll compare for you.

Summery Nail Art

Hey there

Woo! its finally Saturday, I'm so glad this week is over.

I did some nail art, I used 2 coats of Vinyl Tap by Sally Hansen then stamped with Racey Rouge, Snappy Sorbet, Pronto Purple all InstaDri Sally Hansen using plate Summer 03 by from Lina Nail Art Supplies. Topcoat is Barry M Plumpy Topcoat.

I started with the 2 coats of Vinyl Tap, then to get the water colour effect, I dropped blobs of each colour on the stamping plate, scrape lightly to blend the colours then pick up on the stamper and stamp over the nail, I got the technique perfect on my thumbs, really pleased with how they turned out.
